Mamo Pracuj in the Mainstream Public Debate
In recent years, topics such as the “CV gap,” discrimination against mothers, and the financial penalty for motherhood have entered the mainstream public debate, in part thanks to the Foundation’s presence in national business, opinion-forming, and lifestyle media. An example is the Forbes Women article on how the CV gap still poses a threat to careers in Poland, prepared using Mamo Pracuj’s expertise: CV Gap Is a Career Threat.
The topic of supporting women in career development, encouraging their professional activation was also widely discussed. It includes taking on challenges and setting boundaries where necessary. The Mamo Pracuj Foundation, together with State Street experts addressed these issues as part of the Fearless at Work) Academy. Wysokie Obcasy wrote about it.
Data That Changes the Narrative
Research conducted jointly with business partners highlights the scale of challenges associated with returning to work after maternity leave. As many as 95% of women report fears about resuming professional activity. One example is the Bosch Poland and Mamo Pracuj Foundation report Mother on the Job Market. It shows that as many as 95% of women report fears about resuming professional activity.
A description of the report’s findings is available, among others, in Bosch Poland’s press release, the widely distributed InfoWire agency material, and on Radio Eska’s website. Business Insider Poland also refers to the study’s conclusions in this article. A representative of the Mamo Pracuj discussed mothers’ concerns about returning to work in the morning TV show.
Another important voice in the public debate is the report Best Practices for Supporting Working Parents. It has two editions developed by the Mamo Pracuj Foundation. The report provides a comprehensive overview of best practices that help employees balance parental and professional roles. It also includes examples of companies successfully implementing such solutions.
Another report co-created by the Foundation was the study Every Talent Is Worth Its Weight in Gold. Inclusive in Employment, prepared by the Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers. The report’s premiere in the Sejm of the Republic of Poland was accompanied by an exhibition and a debate. Both addressed the report’s findings and recommendations for employers. More about this project can be read on the Sejm website, Newseria.pl, and in an article on the mamopracuj.pl portal.
From Diagnosis to Solutions: Programs for Women and Employers
The Mamo Pracuj Foundation not only researches and describes job market phenomena. It also develops practical solutions such as mentoring programs, reports and tools for companies, and long-term social projects that support women’s return to the job market.
The Mother Empower mentoring program, created in collaboration with Bosch Poland, is one example. It was described on the Bosch website as an effective form of support for returning to professional activity. Recruitment is currently underway for the 7th edition of the program!
The Foundation runs numerous social projects in parallel. One of them is #Welcome II. Through this program, hundreds of Polish and Ukrainian women learned how to effectively enter the Polish job market. This initiative was covered by the NGO.pl portal. It’s worth noting that the 4th edition of the program is currently ongoing.
Systemic Impact and Institutional Collaboration
The Foundation’s reach extends beyond social projects. Mamo Pracuj now co-creates national-level solutions. It sits on the Council for Women on the Labor Market at the Ministry of Family, Labor, and Social Policy. The Foundation’s presence in this body ensures that the experiences of women returning after a career break are taken into account. Insights from the Foundation’s projects are also included when designing public policies on the job market and equal treatment.
Women’s Entrepreneurship and Financial Security
An important topic addressed by the Mamo Pracuj Foundation is women’s financial security. The Foundation joined the #MOCNIEJSZA – Together Against Violence project. It is organized by the Hearty Foundation in collaboration with Feminoteka Foundation, Mamo Pracuj Foundation, Manufaktura Inicjatyw Różnorodnych Association, and Czas Kobiet Foundation, with support from the ZURICH Foundation. As part of this project, a financial independence test was created. After completing it, women receive a personalized guide to financial independence in the form of an e-book. Information about this project was published on the NGO.pl portal.
Women can achieve financial security in various ways. One of them is entrepreneurship. Together with the Municipal Office of Kraków, the Mamo Pracuj Foundation ran three editions of the Entrepreneurial Cracovian Women program. It was targeted at Kraków residents dreaming of starting their own business or developing an existing one. Wysokie Obcasy wrote about this initiative, among others. A summary video of the program is also available on the City of Kraków’s YouTube channel.
New Technologies for Women
For 10 years, the Foundation has addressed women’s participation in the new technologies market through the #MamoPracujwIT project. This can be read about, among others, in the Opinie Magazine Pismo, in the essay: Is There a Place for Women in New Technologies?
The Voice of Mamo Pracuj Is Heard and Matters
All these media materials, reports, and case studies complement each other. They demonstrate the scale of the Foundation’s impact – from individual mothers’ stories to company policies and systemic recommendations. We are pleased that thanks to our actions, the job market is changing and becoming somewhat more friendly to mothers and parents. At the same time, we know there is still much to be done.
The Wysokie Obcasy editorial team appreciated the Foundation’s contribution to changes in the job market and supporting women’s return to work. As a result, Mamo Pracuj was included on the list of 50 Bold Wysokie Obcasy 2025.
