Join our diverse team as a Technical Consulting Engineer! Your expertise in Cloud Security, Network Defense, and Threat Mitigation will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation & protection of our Cisco Multicloud Defense product.

You will be collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver outstanding support and drive innovation in the ever-evolving landscape of Multicloud Security.

Who You Are:

Here’s a list of technical skills that would be valuable for supporting our team:

  • Cloud Security Expertise: In-depth understanding of cloud architecture, services, and security models across various cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
  • Network Security: Proficiency in network security concepts, protocols, and technologies to secure data flows within multicloud environments, network security concepts, firewall configurations, and standard processes for securing network traffic.
  • Threat Detection and Mitigation: Ability to identify and respond to security threats and incidents using intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and other relevant tools.
  • Cybersecurity Frameworks: Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS for implementing and handling security controls.
  • Zero Trust Architecture: Knowledge of implementing zero-trust principles to ensure secure access and identity verification in multicloud environments.
  • Security Automation: Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible) to streamline and improve security processes.
  • Cloud Workload Protection: Ability to secure workloads and applications through strategies like container security, serverless security, and runtime protection.
  • Identity and Access Management (IAM): Proficient in running user identities, roles, and access permissions in a multicloud setup using IAM tools.
  • Vulnerability Management: Skill in identifying, assessing, and remediating vulnerabilities within cloud infrastructure and applications.
  • Incident Response: Capable of crafting and driving incident response plans, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.
  • Security Analytics: Knowledge of using security information and event management (SIEM) tools to analyze and correlate security data for threat detection.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements relevant to multicloud environments.
  • Cloud Encryption: Familiarity with encryption techniques and protocols to safeguard data at rest and in transit within the cloud.
  • Cloud-native Security Solutions: Experience with Cisco Multicloud Defense product suite and other relevant cloud-native security tools.
  • Security Best Practices: Strong alignment to security best practices, cloud governance, and risk management strategies.
  • Rule Validation: Ability to validate and test security rules to ensure they function as intended and do not introduce unintended consequences.
  • Unified Security Management: Skill in managing security policies across various security devices and platforms through a centralized interface.
  • Security Posture Assessment: Capability to assess and improve the overall security posture of the network using product features.
  • Cloud-based Security Management: Familiarity with managing security policies for cloud environments.

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate’s hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. hiring location. The recruiter can share more details about compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.

U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
