We provide support for Network Account Management, Network Partner Services, Service Management and Infrastructure Operations teams so they can deploy and maintain the Akamai Network. Our primary responsibility is the management of the product life cycle of all deployed equipment supporting our network.

On this role, you will be responsible for activities like import/export, procurement, warehousing, distribution, and certification. You will work closely with Manufacturers, 3PLs, Carriers, Repair Vendors, and internal Akamai Edge Platform teams. You will support integration of new products and technologies while balancing roadmap risk and obsolete inventory.

In this individual contributor non managerial role, you will be responsible for:

• Analyzing business data and preparing trend analysis to determine the consumption rate of network components
• Establishing appropriate threshold limits for materials and making decisions to increase or decrease inventory levels to support business needs
• Working cross-functionally and interacting effectively with all levels of the organization, both internally and externally with vendors
• Displaying a sense of urgency in researching, tracking and correcting supply problems; working directly with vendors to resolve issues in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Developing a technical understanding of equipment used by Akamai
• Executing corrective action procedures/processes to address and limit financial exposure to business caused by inventory errors/shortages/expedites
• Identifying material shortages and other unforeseen conditions; working collaboratively with other groups (Design, Engineering, etc.) to understand component roles and impact of delays

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Google Docs including experience with pivot tables, v-lookup and formatting
• Be experienced in VBA, SQL, and database report-writing skills (Tableau is a plus)
• Show Project and Vendor Management experience
• Be detail oriented and enjoy organizing and analyzing data, as well as providing summaries for different audiences
• Be a collaborative team player with solid written and verbal communication skills
• Have experience with asset management systems (Siebel, Infor, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
