Your Role and Responsibilities

The overall scope on the position of Senior File Transfer Specialist is to manage, securing, adding new transfers and controlling them on thousands of servers with different configuration for around 500 external customers. File Transfer team handles tens of thousands of file transfers daily.

Key daily responsibilities

• Creating, supporting maintenance and file transfers monitoring (SFTP, OFTP, C:D) in SFG
• Making changes in already existing transfers such as rescheduling, changing source and destination server, name, or type of moving files etc
• Define objectives by analyzing user requirements
• File transfers investigations
• Troubleshoot development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms
• Creating and updating Business Processes in SFG
• Upgrading infrastructure components (SFG, SSP, CC)
• Technical solution consulting with client
• Technical documents preparation

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Good knowledge of Unix/Linux/AIX operating systems and productivity tools
• 3 years of work with IBM File Transfer tools: Connect: Direct, Sterling File Gateway (SFG), Control Center Director (CCD)
• Understanding of connectivity protocols SFTP, HTTPS, SSH (connect: direct, oftp would be a plus)
• Network knowledge (IP classes, routing, checking connections, ports and others)
• Good troubleshooting skills, problem-solving approach
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills including phone etiquette
• Ability to work under pressure to resolve critical production issues
• Strong work ethic to follow issues through to final resolution
• Ability to multitask and prioritizing when multiple issues occur simultaneously
• Willing to work weekends and provide after-hours support as/if required

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Knowledge of Cloud technology (Kubernetes, Containers)
• Knowledge of Automation tools (Ansible)
