Join Program Management in our Platform Engineering Team

Our Platform Engineering team is responsible for developing the industry-leading Akamai Intelligent Platform, delivering secure, high-performing user experiences globally. Our Program Management team is an agile, international, and collaborative team leading programs to support the ongoing innovation and evolution of the Akamai Intelligent Platform to optimize global effectiveness.

Be integral to the success of critical projects

As the Scrum Master (SM) at Akamai, you will be responsible for creating an environment that enables a team to excel as a high performing Scrum team. He or She is people focused and serves as a facilitator, process coach/mentor and is a “mirror” to the team. The SM will support two or more Agile development teams within a SAFe environment. This will include supporting all phases of software development from requirements definition through to production rollout as well as quarterly planning sessions for release trains. The ability to work with cross functional teams in a matrixed environment is key. Also, crucial is the ability to ensure timely delivery through removal of blockers such that strategic objectives are met. Your contribution will be critical to the success of the team, the programs, and Akamai.

As a Scrum Master, you will be responsible for:

• Living and helping others on the team live the values and principles in the agile manifesto
• Creating a transparent environment that shares observations and promotes a culture of continuous improvement
• Understanding and being able to explain the “why” behind any Scrum process
• Coaching the team on Lean Agile principles using data such as flow metrics and quality to leverage best practices
• Demonstrating effectiveness of all Scrum ceremonies and techniques including self-organization, estimation & planning

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a certified Scrum Master Certification
• Demonstrate working experience as a Scrum Master within a technical teams
• Have good understanding of the software development life cycle
• Display interpersonal and organisational skills with an ability to collaborate effectively
• Demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills to articulate highly technical information, clearly and concisely to all stakeholders
• Working Experience as SM within SAFe framework would be an asset
