Research Analyst – Product Data Services

Working with us, you will be responsible for:

Product Data Services is a global, dynamic, growing department within a world leading asset manager, specializing in the distribution of consumable product data to where it is needed, both within the firm, our clients and to relevant 3rd parties

Main responsibilities:

• Schedule, prioritize and execute scheduled and adhoc product data loads, as well as independently interface with and manage source data file deliverables from various business partners in Product, Portfolio, PAIR, and elsewhere
• Maintain and update data records in GDS Business Managed Database (BMD) that coordinate the federated data flows to downstream systems (PIE, ACR, IWR, RIA)
• Troubleshoot production issues reported by end users and coordinate with other departments and  business partners to resolve broken or missing data traffic and services
• Participate and contribute to Data Enhancement, BMD and PIE development projects led by senior team members.  Provide independent recommendations
• Support newly implemented data tool, by performing regular operational data loads, solving data quality issues, writing and executing appropriate procedures, coordinating activities with other business units across the company

We are looking for candidates who have:

• Bachelor’s Degree – Business Administration (Finance, Economics, Marketing) preferred
• 3-5 years job related experience, preferably in the mutual fund or financial services industry (1-2 years of experience with responsibility for managing information and data workflow and database population/design) 
• Good English language skills
• Basic knowledge of financial services industry and investment products/concepts
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Expert level in Excel and Access)
• Software/DB applications beneficial. MySQL, PHP (would be a plus)
• Exposure to internet-based workflow management tools
• Ability to work directly with clients and teammates 
• Strong project management skills, ability to multi-task, and meet firm deadlines
• Capable of working independently as well as in groups
• Ability to maintain a professional image
• Sound quantitative and analytical skills, with detail oriented approach to research
