Junior Payroll Specialist

Our payroll team looks after the payroll needs of all Cisco countries across our EMEA region. Payroll Team manages or directly runs the accurate and timely payments for over 13,000 employees in over 60 countries. This gives professionals in the team a chance to gain significant exposure to the payroll practices in many different countries.

What You’ll Do

• Provide support for End-to-End (E2E) payroll process for Germany in EMEA Central Region in an in-house capacity
• Review and control payroll files
• Provide support to employees (2nd line of support)
• Prepare payroll input, gather information required for processing
• Point of contact for the business partners (i.e. – HR and Finance)
• Support other Team members with different payroll activities

Our Expectations

• Bachelor’s degree (must have), preferably in Finance/Accounting
• Professional written and verbal communication skills in English and possibly with German
• Intermediate level Excel skills including the ability to manipulate data accurately and the ability to create meaningful reports
• Experience at turning raw data into meaningful reports for different audiences
• Hands-on experience of data entry and data validation with an ability to carry out such tasks with a high level of discipline and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Attention to detail
• Must possess critical thinking skills and enjoy problem solving
• Being comfortable with change, the ability to adapt to change and the ability to recover quickly from adversity
• Be a self-starter who can prioritize tasks and manage deadlines
• Positive/can do attitude

Desired Skills

• Payroll experience with multi country support or equivalent experience in the areas of customer service, human resources, benefits administration, financial institution, application support or other relevant work experience
• Experience with ADP GV (SAP payroll), Workday, Oracle
• Experience in a multinational remuneration environment
• Preferably some experience in payroll for Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Austria, Switzerland
• Experience in accounting on basic to intermediate level
• Partnering skills – with the payroll stakeholders such as HR or Finance
• Sense of urgency and ownership; self-motivation to take on new challenges
• Eager to learn new processes and be part of the improvement projects

For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
