What You Will Do

The Proactive Services Engine in CX Centers has an open opportunity for a Software Development Architect for Cisco’s Customer Acceleration Datacenter & Cloud team. As our Java Software Architect, you will:

• Be accountable for Software development of network management and orchestration solutions for customers.
• Lead software development teams and app development projects
• Work closely with Cisco internal partners to understand requirements, and develop/deploy required automation solutions for Cisco software product/solutions built using Java and Python frameworks with standard CI/CD tools.
• Build these solutions following Cisco guidelines, standard methodologies, and well-defined processes to ensure high quality outcomes.
• Provide internal and/or external technical presentations for partners within Cisco and share your knowledge by writing technical documents that will enlarge the knowledge database across our delivery teams.
• Help identify and solve issues together with the development team and relevant Business Units through product improvements.

Who You Are

You have a wide and deep knowledge of software application development using Java with experience in design & development approaches/methodologies and would have extensive experience in developing automation solutions across networking and other relevant application domains. You’re innovative, often proposing solutions that optimize the delivery process and bring better return on investment across project(s).

• Bachelor or equivalent in Computer Science/IT/Software Systems
• Experienced in Micro services architecture, Object Oriented Programming and advanced software design concepts are essential to the role, as are Data structures, Multithreading and Design Patterns
• Experienced with leading software development teams and projects
• Expert in Java Enterprise/Web/Cloud Applications development, with 5+ years of validated experience developing with: Java Core, Python, JavaScript, Angular, Jenkins, Spring Boot, Maven, TDD and BDD, CI/CD methodologies, Docker, SQL (MySQL, Postgres) and NoSQL (MongoDB).
• Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, L2 & L3 protocols) and Unix/Linux
• Specific knowledge of Cisco DC products like ACI and UCS would be a plus but is not mandatory
