Your Role and Responsibilities

As an IT Specialists in the role of iSeries Systems Support Specialist you will have expertise in one or more server technologies, including different hardware architectures and operating systems.
Typical examples of the deliverables are building proof-of-concept solutions with server system technology and architecting server solutions to address client requirements.

Role Description

• Support the server operating system, system management software and operating system utilities, including upgrades
• Manage the operating system configuration
• Recommend operating system updates and configuration modification
• Apply operating system patches as required
• Evaluate planned changes to the server environment and advise of any requirements to support such changes
• Maintain OS security
• Resolving the occurring incidents
• Manage Disaster Recovery
• Data recover (on customer demand)
• Root-cause Analysis
• „On-demand” customer support after business hours (standby mode)

Required

• Experience in Administration (multiple LPARs, HA Systems and Servers, iASP)
• Experience in Replication, Disaster Recovery, and High Availability
• BRMS experience
• Understand of IBM related hardware, LPAR environment
• Knowledge of IBM current and previous OS’s, PTF update
• Experience in the change and incident management
• Experience with upgrading OS400
• Fluent English

• HW knowledge,
• BRMS & backup management experience,
• Disaster Recovery experience,
• JS, AJS knowledge,
• PM400,
• PTF installations,
• Performance management,
• 3494, 3584 management.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Security setup,
• DB2 UDB Fundamentals,
• SQL Experience,
• at least one of software HA solution experience: – MIMIX, VISION, ITERA,
• PPRC, Flash Copy, Power HA,
• Practical knowledge of Query / DFU / SQL,
• Practical knowledge of CL400.
