The Global Shared Services (GSS) organization within DNV GL provides high quality, cost effective services and processes within Human Resources, Finance and IT, based on requirements defined by the business areas and Group. GSS also develops central competence for distinct services, projects and development and will support policy, procedures and system implementation on a global, regional, and local level
Local Unit & Position Description
Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, build and review usable, accessible, appealing and standards compliant mobile- and web-based applications
- Be involved in the mobile/web-development project life-cycle from prototyping through definition and design to build, integration, QA and delivery
- Create HTML/CSS/Javascript that are consistent across all browsers and platforms
- Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
- Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies, and apply new technologies to future solutions
Technical skills & experiences:
- Solid experience as a web developer for mobile- and web-based applications is a prerequisite
- Solid knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript, including Bootstrap and JQuery, is mandatory
- Good experience with Mobile-First web application
- Experience with PhoneGap / Cordova is a plus
- Demonstrable understanding of one of following frameworks: AngularJS, KnockoutJS, BackboneJS, ReactJS
- Experienced on Visual Studio, ASP.NET / ASP.NET MVC and C#
- Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
- Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
- Proficient understanding of Git as code versioning tool
- Understanding of usability concerns.
- Experience with design is a plus
- Experience with Agile development methodology such as Scrum is a plus
- Experience with Azure is a plus
- SharePoint 2013 or higher / O365 development skills is a plus
- Knowledge of Xamarin is a plus
Other qualifications:
- 2-5 years of relevant professional experiences
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral
- Can work under pressure and be willing to take the challenge
- Ability to develop system documentation as part of application development
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues both locally and towards Head Office in Norway
- Ability to give constructive feedback to improve processes and quality
- Self-motivated
- Bachelor or Master degree in software engineering, scientific, or engineering subject area and a strong scientific or engineering background in addition would be a distinct advantage considering the application domainWe provide complementary benefits package to consider short and long term needs of our employees.
