Business Intelligence developer – IBM Cognos

The Global Shared Services (GSS) organization within DNV GL provides high quality, cost effective services and processes within Human Resources, Finance and IT, based on requirements defined by the business areas and Group. GSS also develops central competence for distinct services, projects and development and will support policy, procedures and system implementation on a global, regional, and local level.

Local Unit & Position Description

The Business Intelligence Team provides easily accessible fact based information to all levels of users in the form of analysis, reports and dashboards. The Business Intelligence Team is also providing BI services to our external customers. We are a global team, with main presence in Norway, China, Poland, Netherlands and Germany.

To further strengthen the Business Intelligence services, we are looking for a good BI Developer candidate with proven work experience in IBM Cognos.

Areas of responsibilities / Key tasks:

• Designing, developing and testing reports using tools from IBM Cognos Analytics (Cognos 11) suite, such as Report Studio.
• Creating and updating models using Framework Manager
• Creating and updating solutions in IBM Cognos TM1
• Actively participating in projects and customer meetings
• Actively participating in updating BI best practices
• Investigating and supporting Cognos performance issues
• Designing, developing and testing reports using Microsoft PowerBI

Position Qualifications:

• A university degree or equivalent
• Extensive experience in:
  • IBM Cognos Report/Query studio
  • IBM FM Manager
  • Skills in more tools from the IBM suite are an advantage.
• Good general knowledge on databases and SQL language
• Good understanding of BI and DWH concepts
• Strong written and communication skills
• Data modeling experience would be a benefit
• Experience with Microsoft PowerBI would be a benefit
