Sitting within the Corporate Accounting team you will assist in the provision of a variety of services to customers across Europe and the Group. This will include activities such as management reporting, accounting for our legal entities and advisory services to stakeholders. Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Supervisor this role, through liaison with others, helps ensure service requirements of the department are met.
A key aspect of this role is working with the German Corporate Accounting team to maintain ledger accounting records. You will participate in the preparation of journal entries and supporting schedules, financial statements, VAT reporting and variance analysis. In addition, you will provide day-to-day support to the German Accounting Supervisor and ensure deadlines are met and provide a proactive, value added assistance to the Corporate Accounting team and the business operations in Europe.
Working with us, you will be responsible for:
Undertake regular processing of journals, bank reconciliations and resolving accounting issues.
Create and issue recharge invoices and post inter-company recharges.
Prepare inter-company and other non-recurring payments.
Assist with the monthly close of European corporate entities (including the preparation of monthly accruals, postings, reports, account reconciliations and variance analysis).
Assist in preparation of VAT returns.
Assist in preparation of statutory and regulatory returns. Work with auditors, other third parties and other business units to meet requirements.
Provide financial service support to other functional and operational areas as required.
Operate procedures to undertake the above responsibilities (ensuring compliance with global policies and procedures and other legal requirements).
Assist in establishment and maintenance of above procedures.
Assist as required in departmental projects.
Provide ad-hoc reports to department and business management as required.
Develop and maintain a customer service focus.
Identify issues for management attention and recommend and implement effective solutions.

We are looking for candidates who:
Have Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting/business.
Possess experience in accounting.
Are fluent in English – written and spoken. German language would be an advantage.
Can work with deadlines.
Are paying strong attention to detail.
Possess strong Word and Excel skills and systems orientation.
Have experience with automated financial systems, including a general ledger is an advantage.
Possess good understanding of financial processes, practices and applications.
Can take ownership of and responsibility for work. Pro-active and flexible organization of daily tasks.
Can build collaborative, trust-based relationships with staff and customers in a local, international and multi-site environment.
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Team player.
