Who we are looking for

State Street Bank International’ (SSBI) AML Compliance sits within Second Line of Defense and is responsible for running the SSBI AML/Financial Crime Program. An important pillar of the AML/FC Program is the Monitoring & Surveillance program which is designed to test the effectiveness of the systems and controls that have been established to comply with SSBI’s regulatory requirements.

The role of the AML Compliance Monitoring and Surveillance (M&S) Officer is to design and execute a testing plan in relation to the KYC due diligence controls relating to the SSBI AML Program covering SSBI Germany and all Branches (Luxembourg, Austria, The Netherlands, France, Italy). The role also requires the implementation and presentation of regular reporting of testing results to local and regional governance committees.

This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements (at least 2 days/per week in the office).

What you will be responsible for

As AML Compliance Monitoring and Surveillance Manager, you will

  • support the local SSBI Money Laundering Reporting Officers (SSBI MLROs) in relation to their regulatory responsibilities, with a particular focus on:
    – the design and implement a risk-based testing plan for the KYC controls relating to the SSBI AML Program
    – supporting production of management reporting, including but not limited to data collection, qualitative and / or quantitative analysis, formatting, and quality assurance relating to M&S Testing
  • ad hoc advisory work
  • participation in remediation projects
  • regulatory monitoring and impact analyses
  • FCC related training
  • liaison with colleagues across the Global financial crime function and local AML/KYC Business Teams

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • University degree in economics, finance or related field
  • Relevant professional qualification in an AML or related field
  • At least 8+ years’ experience in the financial services sector, compliance, audit or risk management
  • At least 2+ years’ of managing a team
  • Good working knowledge of anti-money laundering regulations (especially in the EU and Germany) and policies and procedures, industry standards and regulatory developments, especially KYC requirements and prior experience in controls testing / quality assurance role
  • Familiarity with fund management, custody or investment sectors
  • Familiarity with, and prior experience of, KYC Databases would be a distinct advantage
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
